The governing body of Länsimetro needed to build an identity and communication platform for their 7-year-long engineering project. It became clear that the approach should be to shift focus from the inconveniences of long renovations to the thrilling journeys offered by the new Länsimetro route. The promise is a metro that moves you – in more ways than one. As a praise for life, a love story between a girl from the west and a boy from the east was created.
The new graphical identity was established throughout all communications materials, and also along each one of the 8 stops of the 14 kilometer tunnel. The design and message was able to touch the lives of almost all Helsinki metropolitan area citizens, showing them how a single new route can have the power to enhance the quality of living – even make some dreams come true.
